Cluster meeting · every Saturday, 5:00pm

Save every Saturday. Own a share of what we build.

Requiza Cooperative Union runs savings clusters in towns and villages across Africa. You save weekly with the cluster nearest you, buy shares in the businesses the union builds from ₦1,000, and take your dividend at the end of the financial year.

  • Saturday 1

You join a cluster and make your first entry. Every entry is recorded online the same day.

  • Saturday 13

Three months of consistent saving. An active member may now request a loan from the union.

  • Saturday 52

Twelve uninterrupted months. Savings are returned with 30% interest and the annual dividend is due.

The Saturday line

Fifty-two Saturdays make one savings year. Move along the line to see what the union's terms give you at each point. Every figure comes from the terms themselves — nothing here is a projection.

The two brass marks are the Saturdays that change what you are owed: 13, when you may borrow, and 52, when your savings and interest are returned.

Saturday 26 of 52 in the savings year
Saved ₦130,000 Your own money, held by the union
Loan available Yes Members may request a loan after 13 Saturdays
Returned at year end Paid after 52 uninterrupted Saturdays

What membership is worth

Four numbers, and the condition attached to each

A rate on its own is a promise. A rate with its condition is a term. These are the union's terms, printed the same way here as they are in the rule book.

₦1,000 One ordinary share Minimum subscription of 100 shares on any project the union opens.
30% Annual interest on savings Paid at the end of your financial year, after 12 months of weekly saving without a break.
15% Quarterly return on the Special Investment Package For members who invest in the package. Separate from weekly savings.
3 Months before you may borrow Active members may request a loan after three months of consistent savings.

§ 01 · The vision

Empowering the members. Industrializing Africa.

Requiza Cooperative Union is a branch of Requiza Empire, set up to bring Africans into the cooperative system and to put member money to work in the parts of the economy that employ people: food, and the industry around it.

A cooperative is not a bank and it is not an investment scheme. It is a body owned by the people who save into it. Members subscribe shares, the union trades with that capital, and what the businesses earn comes back to the members who own them.

The five-point vision

  1. Cooperative clusters In rural and urban settings across Africa. One
  2. Financial inclusion Onboard Africans into the cooperative system and into investment. Two
  3. A new agricultural economy Jobs in food production, processing, packaging and distribution. Three
  4. Industrialization Investment into the critical sectors of the economy. Four
  5. The business school Training members to earn more than one income. Five

Where the money goes

Food, from the farm to the shelf, in four stages

The union invests member equity along one chain. Each quarter it opens a new project on that chain, funded 20% by the cooperative and 80% by members who subscribe shares.

Production

Farms and aggregation. Cluster members grow and gather the crop the union has contracted for.

Processing

Mills and processing lines turn the raw crop into a product that keeps and travels.

Packaging

Grading, weighing and packing, so the product can be sold under its own name.

Distribution

Storage and transport into the markets. What the chain earns is what the dividend is paid from.

Every quarter, one new stream of income

The cooperative puts in 20% of the equity and members subscribe the remaining 80%. Shares are ₦1,000 each and the minimum subscription on any project is 100 shares.

Streams of income

More than one way to earn

The union opens a new stream of income each quarter. Members activate the ones they want, and record each activation in their back office once a month.

How streams are activated

A member's streams

Example
  • Stream 1 · Cooperative savings and shares Active
  • Stream 2 · Food production partnership Active
  • Stream 3 · Food processing unit Active
  • Stream 4 · Packaging and distribution Submit the referral link in your monthly update to activate. Not yet

This is what the streams panel looks like in a member's back office. It is filled in from the member's own record, not from this page.

§ 03 · Training

Streams of Income Business School

Wealth is predictable when somebody shows you the working

The union runs a business school for its members. It teaches the system the cooperative itself uses: how to hold more than one income, how to read a business, and how to put savings to work instead of leaving them idle.

Everything a careful person should ask before saving a naira

Plenty of schemes have taken money from people in this region and disappeared. You are right to be careful. Here is what the union is, in one place, so you can check it before you commit anything.

If a detail below is not yet filled in, it is because the union has not published it yet — not because it is being kept from you. Ask the office for it and hold us to it.
